Demographics

 

Displays currently available demographics.

 

Favourite Demographics can be searched for using the text box and then selected using the check box to the left of the demographic name.

 

Favourite demographics appear at the top of any demographic list, followed by the remaining demographics in alphabetical order.

 

In some modules a full text search can be used when selecting demographics.

 

Type part of the demographic name and TVmap will filter the list of demos to show matching demographic.

Why do Potentials vary day by day for some demos and not others?

         

With the way the Nielsen panel is constructed, there is an annual adjustment of the potentials in line with NZ department of statistics results. This is done for a selected number of demos and these have fixed potentials throughout the year.

 

The remaining demos are adjusted daily using a RIM Weighting process so that the Panel Universe matches the Potential Universe.

 

So if you look at demos that have a fixed potential you will only see variation from year to year, whereas other demos will fluctuate daily (within small amounts) depending on what’s happening with RIM Weighting. Therefore you may see these rise and fall within a year. Generally speaking these will all increase with each year as the population increases.

 

General Options

Choose a default week commencing day from the Week Commencing Day drop down menu.

 

The current default week commencing day is shown in the bottom right of the TVmap application in the home screen.

 

Any new Buy/Campaigns or Pre/Post Analysis session will use the current default value when opening. Reports will also commence on the day selected.
 

Saved Buys/Campaigns and Pre/Post Analysis sessions retain the w/c day setting that they were created with. If an existing session is re-opened, this session will use the w/c setting it was saved with and not the default setting. The w/c day will display in the bottom right hand corner of the TVmap screen for that session.

 

 

Data Grid Options

These settings provide options to allow more flexibility when navigating through the TVmap data grids.

 

 

Arrow Key Navigation and Move Cursor unchecked

 

Use any of the arrow keys to move the focus between rows and columns when no fields are being edited.

Select with the mouse or start typing to modify values in an editable field. Using the left and right arrow keys will move left and right within the field, using the up and down arrow keys will have no effect.  

Press Enter or select with the mouse to stop editing and move to the next field.

Pressing the left or right arrow keys while a field is in edit mode will move the cursor within the field, then to the next editable field right or left. Before modifying the highlighted text, pressing the left or right arrow keys will move the cursor to the start or end of the field.

 

Pressing the up or down arrow keys, or Enter while a field is in edit mode will move the cursor to the next editable field up or down. Before changing the highlighted text, pressing the left or right arrow keys will put the cursor at the start or end of the field.

 

Select with the mouse to stop editing.
