Reach and Frequency provides an output showing what the viewing behaviour would have been if the selected spots had played at the booked times in the selected time periods. Reach and Frequency uses the spot times and not a programme average rating. This means that ratings vary from buying estimates even if similar weeks are chosen. Results are not seasonally adjusted.

 

Running a Reach and Frequency Analysis

Select the Reach and Frequency shortcut from the top toolbar R&F.tile

or from the Buy Task menu to bring up the Reach and Frequency options.

The settings displayed will come from what was set at the buy level, either when creating or modifying your buy.

Buying.ReachFreq.Options

 

Use actual dates - only available when the selected spots are historical.

Time Periods - shows a list of historical time periods which the present spot schedule can be analysed.

The default source week selection will automatically set depending upon the buy weeks:

Last 4 weeks for buys starting within the next 4 weeks.

Mixed for buys starting between 4 and 12 weeks.

Same time last year for buys starting 12 weeks or more.

Each time period is relative to the number of weeks the spots in the Spot List cover. 

The date will reset if there is a change in buy weeks through the modify session details screen.

Ratings metric - select the metric to be used.

Promote to National - this will treat all regional spots as if they screened nationally. This will also provide a more robust sample size when using a regional demographic. The spots will still display the original region in the output, but full national ratings will be applied.

Use regional filter - apply a region or area type (urban/other) demographic filters by clicking Regional Filter, then selecting the required regions/area types from the list.

Select OK to run the analysis.

Once Reach and Frequency has been calculated, the output screen is presented.

Change Details - edit the details from the Reach and Frequency options screen

Override Visible Ratings from RF - ratings results can be overridden back into the Spot List. When running a regional R&F, the regional ratings can be overridden back to the Spot List.
